Use this boom arm to extend a light above an area without getting the stand in the shot. For safety, use with a C-Stand and place two sandbags on the C-Stand base PLUS counter-balance the weight of the light with one of our shot bags.
Remove the regular C-Stand arm and mount the boom arm in its place. Place two sandbags on the base of the C-Stand. Point the longest leg of the C-Stand in the same direction as the boom arm for best support. Hook a shot bag to the end of the boom arm and then slide the boom arm until it’s balanced with the shot bag and light attached. This is the ONLY way to use the boom arm because it’s the safest way!
